Message Exchange

The main function of the OnLAN Messenger is instant message exchange between users. Messages can contain different fonts, paragraphs, "smileys", pictures and inserted OLE-objects.

The maximum message size depends on the resources available to your computer and the computer receiving the message, but the overall maximum allowed size of a message is approximately 100mb (the current message size is shown in bytes in the lower right corner of the "Send Message" window). Please note that graphical files greatly increase the message size, when inserted.

Depending on the properties of your user name, setup by the OnLAN Messenger administrator, you can either send messages freely to all users in the network, or be restricted to receiving messages only.

You can check all settings that are applicable to your user name in the "Messages" tab of the "Settings" window.
